Things to do in Piran

In the old town

• Tartini Square· 3 min walk

  Piran's main square bears the name of the violinist and composer Giuseppe Tartini, who was born in the town. Lined with Venetian-style façades, it is where Piran meets for coffee and evening strolls.

• Church of St George

  The parish church crowns the hill above the old town. Its bell tower is modelled on the campanile of St Mark's in Venice, and the terrace beside it looks out over the rooftops and the sea.

• Town walls

  Sections of the medieval walls still climb the hill behind the town. A walk along them offers one of the finest views of Piran and the bay.

• Punta and the seafront promenade

  Follow the promenade to Punta, the tip of the peninsula with its lighthouse — a favourite spot to watch the sun go down.

• Marina· 5 min walk

  Boats, sea air and cafés by the water — just right for an unhurried morning.

Sea and coast

• Beach· 4 min walk

  The nearest place to swim is only a few minutes from the door — ideal for a morning dip before breakfast.

• Fiesa

  A small bay just outside Piran with a beach and two little lakes, which you can reach on foot along the coastal path.

• Strunjan Landscape Park

  A protected stretch of natural coastline with cliffs, salt pans and quiet coves.

• Sečovlje Salina Nature Park

  Salt pans in the far south of the Slovenian coast, where sea salt is still harvested by traditional methods.

Food and evenings

Cafés are a minute's walk from the house and restaurants just two, so a good dinner is never far away.

Or end the day at home: watch the sunset from the rooftop terrace, then unwind in the private infrared sauna and jacuzzi.
